EMINENT Summit: Demonstrating a Complete and Responsible Value Chain for Seabed Minerals

Join our seminar to learn the main results and knowledge gained from the EMINENT project.

EMINENT Summit: Demonstrating a Complete and Responsible Value Chain for Seabed Minerals

On December 9, the EMINENT consortium will host its final summit in Bergen, presenting key results from nearly three years of collaborative research and innovation. The event will showcase how the project has advanced deep-sea knowledge and developed integrated solutions for a future Norwegian value chain for seabed minerals.

The EMINENT project has provided advancements in environmental mapping and monitoring, deep-sea coring, parallel operations, and solutions for production and mineral processing. The results are built upon three research expeditions, allowing important data collection and testing of methodology and technology.

The seminar will provide you with insight into the project results and the way forward in establishing a possible value chain for seabed minerals.

Project Highlights:

  • Complete Value Chain Demonstrated
Exploration, production, and processing workflows have been demonstrated and technically validated.
  • Environmentally Preferred Alternative
Lifecycle assessments show a lower ecological footprint compared to traditional land-based mining.
  • High-Resolution Exploration
Advanced geophysical tools and AI-driven mapping enable precise, low-impact resource identification.
  • Targeted Extraction Technologies:
Closed-loop ROV-based systems minimize habitat disturbance and eliminate tailings discharge at sea.
  • Sustainable Processing Methods
Low-energy beneficiation, bioleaching, and circular tailings strategies to support near-zero waste goals.
  • Integrated Environmental Monitoring
Real-time data and adaptive operations reduce risk and ensure compliance with marine protection standards.
  • Scalable and Transferable Model
Designed to integrate with existing offshore infrastructure and adaptable across multiple locations.
